THE PRINCIPAL AIMS ACCORDING TO THE STATUTE OF THE ITALIAN LIVER FOUNDATION

 

The Foundation is a non-profit organization primarily dedicated to scientific research aimed at specific social good. Research is carried out by the Foundation or by other establishments consigned by the Foundation, such as universities, research facilities and other foundations. Research is dedicated to the study of liver disease especially chronic viral hepatitis, cirrhosis, liver carcinoma, in addition to diabetes and other metabolic alterations related to liver disease. The Foundation is committed to the following :

Promoting :
knowledge concerning epidemiology and prevention of liver diseases ;
national and international scientific collaboration ;
the standardization of clinical and laboratory methods of research ;
scientific and cultural meetings aimed at providing information concerning useful methods of prevention of liver disease and related extrahepatic disorders, physiopathological mechanisms and treatment ;
initiatives concerning the diffusion of information on public health issues related to viral hepatitis and infection, aiming for the prevention of transmission, particularly among members within the same household of patients affected by viral hepatitis.

Favoring :
the exchange of information concerning the research of liver diseases ;
the study of the physiopathological mechanisms of both acute and chronic liver diseases and related extrahepatic alterations.

Pursuing :
the most ideal methods for the treatment of liver disease from both a clinical and surgical point of view.
